Barely a week after the dissolution of the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board ( NSUBEB), the state Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has reconstituted the board with the appointment of a former Comptroller General of Fire Service, Ibrahim Liman as Chairman.
The reconstitutuion and appointment of the board members was announced in a statement issued in Minna on Thursday by the Secretary to the State Government ( SSG) Alhaji Abubakar Usman.
He explained that the exercise is continuation of the ongoing reforms to reposition and strengthen the education sector for improved efficiency, accountability and service delivery.
He said, “the Governor of Niger State, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, has approved the constitution of a new Board for the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB)”.
According to him, Ibrahim A Liman got appointed as Chairman, Monday Emigi – Member I, Mohammed Mudi – Member II, Samuel Makotso – Member III, Malik Madaki Bosso – Member IV, Mohammed Mamman Auna – Member V
while Dr. Aminu Wushishi will serve as Secretary.
The Governor also reconstituted the Niger State Secondary Education Board (SSEB) and
appointed Abdulkadir Isah Nafuntuwa Aaron the new chairman of the board.
Others appointed include
Mohammed Madami Evuti – Member I, Salihu Danladi – Member II, Yusuf A Yakubu Salka – Member III, Dr. Yinti Usman – Member IV, Abubakar Garo – Member V while Dr. Ahmed Egbako will serve as Secretary
Governor Bago congratulated all the appointees and urges them to bring their experience, professionalism and commitment to bear in advancing the State Government’s vision of transforming the education sector under the New Niger Agenda.
” I therefore charged the new Boards to ensure transparency, prudent management of resources and effective implementation of education policies aimed at improving teaching and learning outcomes across the State”, he said
