The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has fixed June 13 for the conduct of the mop-up unified tertiary matriculation examination (UTME) for candidates who missed this year’s examination.
The 2026 UTME was held in about 966 computer-based test (CBT) centres nationwide between April 16 and 23.
However, some centres experienced technical challenges, making it impossible for a number of candidates to sit the examination.
In a statement on Monday, Fabian Benjamin, JAMB spokesperson, said the mop-up examination is for candidates who were biometrically verified for the 2026 UTME but could not sit the examination for one reason or another.
“The mop-up examination represents the final phase of the annual UTME exercise and serves as an opportunity to address all outstanding examination challenges involving candidates who duly presented themselves but encountered difficulties in taking the examination,” the statement reads.
“Candidates in this category are advised to begin printing their Examination Notification Slips from Saturday, June 6, 2026.”
The board urged affected candidates to print their examination notification slips, familiarise themselves with their examination centres, and make necessary arrangements ahead of the examination date.
It warned that there would be no further opportunity for candidates to sit the 2026 UTME after the mop-up exercise.
