The National- Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission ( N-HYPPADEC) has commenced the distribution of 850 units of 13 HPPower Tillers, 4000 life jackets and cash donations of N10m to host communities of the commission as part of international projects in the member states.
The Managing Director of the Commission, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa stated this in Minna at the fkag off of the exercise on Wednesday
He explained that 165 units of the state power tillers are for Niger state including wide range of other relief materials to mitigate effects of the power plants on the communities.
He said, “Today, the Commission is distributing agricultural inputs which include a cash donation of ₦10 million, 500 bags of NPK fertilizers, 50cartons of pesticides, and 100 cartons of herbicides as part of our interventions towards enhancing agricultural development of member states, particularly in the empowerment of our women and youths “.
According to him, “we will continue to extend similar interventions to all,
strengthen rural economies and create more opportunities for the people and deserving communities in all our member states”.
Speaking at the event, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger state commended the Commission for its timely interventions in executing people oriented projects in the state.
He pledged to complement the good gesture of N- HYPPADEC with the purchase of additional 165 13 HPPower Tillers to ensure enhanced agricultural empowerment of Small scale farmers in the state.
