Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, former senate president, was also declared the consensus APC senatorial candidate for Yobe north.

In a statement, Lawan described his emergence as “not a personal victory but a victory for democracy, for unity of purpose, and for our collective commitment to the progress of Yobe north”.

He thanked the APC leadership, stakeholders in Yobe north, and Mai Mala Buni, governor of Yobe state, for supporting his candidacy.
