Pascal Okechukwu, the Nigerian socialite known as Cubana Chief Priest, has lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for a seat in the house of representatives.

Cubana was vying to be APC’s candidate for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East federal constituency seat in the House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections.

He lost the party ticket to Canice More Nwachukwu, the incumbent representative of the constituency who is currently serving his second term.

Cubana formally declared his political ambition in late April 2026 after purchasing the APC’s expression of interest and nomination forms.

He was a former aide to Hope Uzodinma, the governor of Imo. However, during a meeting with the aspirants on Thursday, the governor failed to declare favourites but urged them to go to the field and test their popularity.

Cubana has been vocal about his support for the current government and the ruling party.

The socialite was appointed as the Imo director of City Boy Movement (CBM), a youth-oriented support group for Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
