The gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Katsina State, Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita, has expressed gratitude to his supporters and the people of the state for their prayers and goodwill messages following his recent surgery abroad.
Senator Kaita, who emerged as the ADC governorship candidate for the 2027 election, recently underwent what his campaign described as a minor orthopedic procedure at a foreign hospital.
In a statement issued by his campaign spokesman, Abubakar Ahmed, the former Senator representing Katsina North said he has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of concern from within and outside the state.
“I am particularly touched by your goodwill and other encouraging messages for my quick recovery,” Kaita was quoted as saying.
“I wish to assure you that the orthopedic procedure went very smoothly and in the way I responded to treatment, In Shaa Allah, I will be up and running soon,” he added.
The ADC flag-bearer specifically thanked the leadership of the party at the state and national levels for the opportunity to fly the party’s flag in the forthcoming governorship election.
He also commended other ADC candidates contesting at various levels in the state and the staff of his campaign office and the Katsina State chapter of the party for keeping the party alive and active across the state.
Looking ahead to the full commencement of campaigns, Kaita expressed optimism about the party’s chances in the 2027 polls.
“As we move closer to the official kickoff of the governorship and state House of Assembly campaigns which marks the beginning of full campaigns in the country, I remain confident that the ADC which is the only opposition party with full structure in place, will defeat the incumbent APC government in the 2027 election,” he said.
According to his campaign office, preparations for the campaigns are ongoing, with other candidates of the party already warming up for the exercise.
