Mr Wase secured victory in the APC primary election for the Wase Federal Constituency after defeating two other aspirants.
The former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives polled 6,558 votes to defeat Yahaya Adamu Mavo, who scored 294 votes, and Yusuf Zakari, who secured 173 votes.
Similarly, the APC Returning Officer, Nandom Andrew Kura, declared Gagdi winner of the Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency primary election.
Mr Gagdi polled 29,207 votes to defeat Henry Jan, who secured 293 votes; Zhiphion Chrisenthus, who scored 848 votes; Abbas Wakdum, who got 430 votes; and John Gozhak, who polled 372 votes.
In Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency, Sadeq Plaza emerged as the APC consensus candidate following consultations and deliberations involving 14 aspirants contesting for the ticket.
The consensus arrangement was reportedly brokered after mediation efforts led by Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, at the Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos.
Party stakeholders said the consensus process was aimed at strengthening unity within the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Following his emergence, several aspirants congratulated Sadeq Plaza and pledged support for his candidacy.
One of the aspirants, Khalifa Pasali, described Sadeq’s emergence as a positive development for the party and promised to work for his success in the general election.
“I congratulate Alhaji Sadeq Plaza over his well-deserved emergence as consensus candidate. I am ready to work towards his success in the general election,” Pasali said.
Another aspirant, Muhammad Adam Alkali, also congratulated the consensus candidate, describing the process as a reflection of unity and internal democracy within the APC.
“While I was a fellow aspirant in this race, I fully respect the outcome of the process, which validates the spirit of unity, maturity, and internal cohesion within our great party,” Mr Alkali stated.
“I wish him the very best as he takes on this responsibility, and I remain steadfast in my dedication to the progress of Bassa/Jos North and the ideals of the APC. Together, we shall continue to strive for peace, development, and victory in 2027, Insha Allah,” he added in a statement posted on his verified social media platform.
The APC primaries in Plateau State form part of the party’s preparations for the 2027 general elections, with party leaders expressing confidence in the emergence of candidates through both consensus arrangements and electoral contests.
