Jonathan, who was in the country as part of the ECOWAS Monitoring Mission at the time of the announcement, became a subject of concern over his safety. NAHCON, in a photostatement posted on X on Monday stated that the adjustments were made to make the pilgrimage more affordable for Nigerian Muslims ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
