Bandits on Monday morning  bombed a bridge linking Wawa and Luma communities in Borgu local government of Niger state.
It was learnt that the blasted bridge has now disconnected traffic along the Wawa and Luma road affecting movement of peoples from  Babanna major border market.
It was gathered that the terrorists also planted IED explosives on the Nuku and Woro road and that, “a vehicle stepped on  the IED planted bandit’s and all the eight passengers of the vehicle were killed”
A witness account said, “Eight passengers including the driver were all killed as a result of the incident which occurred today “.
The bandits had on 16th March 2026 dispatched a letter to three districts in Borgu kingdom demanding payment of N150m from each district within two weeks or else there would be unprecedented attacks.
The letter has reportedly cuased pandemonium and tension among the residents most of whom have relocated from their homes and villages.
A man who spoke with journalists on condition of anonymity said his people have been living in perpetual fears since the letter was delivered to the District Heads of the kingdom.
