The incident, which occurred on Tuesday after a downpour, affected communities in the Yola North and Yola South councils. While over 40 people sustained injuries, farmlands and critical infrastructure were also submerged, displacing families and disrupting livelihoods. Adepoju was arrested by UK authorities on September 15, 2025, and is currently awaiting extradition to the US to face a seven-count charge.
